Commercial Projects

Overall, commercial projects comprised the largest number of projects that received TIF assistance between the years 2000 and 2008. Of the 154 total TIF projects that were examined, 58 projects were commercial projects and an additional 20 projects were Mixed Use projects. Based on the research, the City pledged TIF assistance to commercial projects in an average amount of approximately 21% of the total project budget of those projects. Mixed Use projects received a lower percentage of assistance as compared to their project budgets, or, on average, approximately 16%.
